The day after Christmas often comes as a bit of a let down…
The anticipation and magic of the big day is over, and suddenly you’re buried under a pile of torn wrapping paper and needing a bottle of aspirin.
I think it’s even worse for the kids, so to make the morning after not quite so blah, I love to make them a nice simple brunch.
Simple being the key word there. It doesn’t matter what else is on the table so long as I make some of these Easy Biscuit Doughnuts.
Your kids will think you’re a saint, and you can take a breather for a day!

I’m going to make these now for brunch! Thanks
Happy Boxing day and hope you had a merry christmas (despite whatever that needed all that asprin!)
I definitely agree that the day after Christmas is one that needs simple! Those donuts look wonderful. Hope you had a nice holiday. I am off to brave the return lines. I might need that bottle of aspirin before the day is over!!
Good luck with that! I plan to avoid stores for at least a few days!
A great idea! Simple, sweet, fun. (But for me, a Tums — or two — is the answer before the big clean up today!)
I think I’m going to make these tomorrow, they are awesome and I still have in-laws here. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Right back at you!
How yummy and golden! Delicious!
These look delicious and I bet it softened the blow for the piglets!
) Happy New Year!
They certainly don’t hurt!
I totally understand about the “anti-climax” after all the build-up for Christmas. I didn’t want to even step into the kitchen after all the baking and cooking I did before Christmas. These biscuit doughnuts look perfect.
Now… onto New Year’s celebrations.
Mmmmm….my mom used to make these! We loved them…as I know my kids would, too! We’re getting our first snow today…finally looks like Christmas
Those look wonderful! Doughnuts are so addictive.
Best wishes for 2012!
Cheers,
Rosa
I agree with you 100% on the post-Christmas-Day blues. What better way to treat that than with delicious food?! The doughnuts look incredible! Yum yumm…
These sound delicious, and I love that they are easier, as most doughnuts intimidate me! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday weekend
!
Jen…..what a SUPER idea! I’m with you! Not only do I NOT want to see the inside of a store for a month, the day after Christmas, I don’t want to do any cooking or baking either! I’d make an exception for these scrumptious things, though. Perfect with my morning coffee! : )
I can’t say I’ve had biscuit doughnuts before! Interesting recipe
I would love to try making these! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love biscuits! I love doughnuts! A biscuit doughnut is genius Jen!
Love! These would have totally taken away my post-christmas blues!!!
These sound extremely easy! Hope you’re having a great New Year so far =)
Can’t remember when exactly I had a good doughnut…must have been ages…those look marvelous!
Oh Jen! These look fantastic. I have to try these out.
Such a lovely recipe! Your donuts look fantastic.
