The Day After…

I am SOOO glad that I had the foresight to buy Milk Duds for Halloween because my kids didn’t even get one stinking box of the suckers!

And that’s the first candy I steal out of their baskets when they go to bed… Instead we got like ten bazillion Twizzlers. Grody.

So here we are. The big day is over, and we’re drowning under a mountain of candy! Luckily the holiday season is quickly approaching, so I’ll stash away some of our favorites so that our holiday baking will be a breeze.

Need a little inspiration for your leftover stash?

Hershey Bars? Try some of THE best S’Mores Cookies known to man!

Reeses’ Pieces will be perfect in these Cowgirl Cookies

For all you grownups, steal that dark chocolate and make some Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Biscotti.

If you can manage to salvage some Reeses’ Peanut butter cups, you can try these cupcakes.

For Snickers, Milky Way, or Three Musketeers, how about some Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies?

Rolos? Substitute them into your favorite Peanut Blossom Cookies of course!

And for just about everything , some Everything but the Kitchen Sink Cookies.

What do you do with your extra Halloween candy?

GREAT inspiration! Honey Bunny and I actually go out with a big group of friends on Halloween, so we aren’t home to trick-or-treat. So…no leftover candy. If I HAD it – I’d eat it….

Yum–seriously with the Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies. You are killing me! Luckily, we didn’t have Snickers this year–but I think I’ll snatch a few of your ideas for what’s left in the candy bowl. :)

It always seems like you can see what was on sale every year because there is always an overabundance of one candy!
These links look like a tasty way to use up those candies-especially the rolos. Thanks for sharing.

All of those recipes look so good but the pile of candy is winning my heart today. We didn’t buy any candy because we never get trick or treaters. Now I am sad.

Wow all those recipes look fantastic!! I am stashing some of the candy bars for recipes too. We didn’t get too many Twizzlers… thank goodness. I’m not a fan either. : )

Okay, my mouth watered immediately upon entering the site. wow. We didn’t have a lot of trick or treaters this year and I bought a ton of candy. So, I took out the choice pieces (snickers and butterfinger), froze them and brought the rest to work for the scavengers. i can’t wait to make something with them! Thanks for the inspiration.

I made blondies with our left over chocolate candies yesterday.

This slows us down in the eating of it and somehow feel less guilty though ultimately it is more calories so we should feel worse.

Great ideas on using the leftover Halloween candy! We also have lots of candies in the house after our 3 kids went trick-o-treating :)

My kids didn’t get much in the way of candy at all…apparently I didn’t get the memo that no one was going to be home :(
I love all of the treat choices that you’ve shared. Thanks so much for the variety of inspiration.

Jen, these are super suggestions. Rolos! Haven’t seen these in years. Surely you don’t steal your kids’ rolos?! :-)
Left overs? I did like you and hid some but the others I forgot about, the kids didn’t. They ate the lot yesterday! Bad Mum. I’ll just have to go out and buy some to make these great treats.

If I’m a baker, this link will be so helpful! We just donated all the candies (minus our kids’ favorites) to my son’s school force this morning. =P Everything looks delicious but your Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies seem really good!!!
