Cyber Monday Playlist

I’m one of those geeky types who secretly loves that radio stations start playing Christmas music as soon as Halloween is over!

Well, I guess it’s not so secret now…

This is my favorite time of the year – the lights, the food (of course the food…) and all the other schmaltzy stuff that goes with it.

The truth is though, with three kids and a deployed husband, the holidays can be a busy and stressful time of year. I try hard to start my Christmas shopping early so that I can sit back and relax as we get later into the season.

Which is why I’m thrilled that someone dreamed up Cyber Monday. What could be better than getting all your gifts shipped right to your door while sitting in your pj’s?! A nice cup of coffee and some good music are sure to put me in the holiday spirit.

Here’s my idea of the perfect Cyber Monday playlist:

Thankful by Josh Groban because it’s a great reminder of what this season is truly all about.

What Child is This with Andrea Bocelli and Mary J. Blige Who would have ever dreamed up that duet? It gives me goose bumps every single time!

Christmas Like a Lullaby by John Denver because when I was a little girl I wanted to grow up and marry John Denver.  I kid you not…

All I Want for Christmas is You by Michael Bublé from his new CD – if you haven’t already picked it up, go get it. Now! I’ll wait…

I Really Don’t Want Much for Christmas by Chris Botti Makes me wish I had a fireplace and a nice glass of wine…

Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Taylor So simple and yet so beautiful!

The Wexford Carol with Alison Krauss and Yo-Yo Ma She has such a lovely voice…

Highland Cathedral by Amy Grant I have no good explanation for why I love this song.  I just do!

Christmas is the Time by Katherine McPhee – this one always gets me singing like I’m Barbara Streisand.

White Christmas by Bing Crosby – because it just wouldn’t be Christmas without it. Best movie EVER!

What song gets you in the holiday spirit? Get any good Cyber Monday deals?

John Denver and Bing Crosby get played a lot here at Christmas!!

Love Cyber Monday, and what has seemed to turned into Cyber Thanksgiving as well (at least for my husband). Loving all the gifts getting shipped to my house while I sit with my english muffin in my p.j’s!

Love this post! I look forward to Christmas music as soon as Halloween is over too. I also love to belt out the lyrics along with whomever is singing (though perhaps waaaay off key!)
I’m a Harry Connick, Jr fan, so he’s always on my playlist as well.
    Your playlist is fantastic. 😉

My eldest has been blasting Michael Buble Christmas music for weeks now. I think you and he have the same idea of starting the get “into the spirit” early. I am so glad you included Bing on your list. My parents had that exact album…in vinyl!

Oh my goodness- this is brilliant. I love Christmas music an unreasonable amount and this is such a fantastic selection. The only thing I might throw into the ring; Robert Downey Jnr’s version of ‘River’. Breaks my heart, every year.

Funny you talked about Christmas music on radio. I’m the same – I turn on radio at home (normally it’s off), play in the car, and I pretty much listen to it ALL DAY LONG. My husband seems not to mind at all since I found him playing the Christmas song radio in his car! LOL. I’m so happy I found another person who’s geeky like me. =P
